THE COLDHAM CHRONICLE

APRIL 2008

Greetings All,

Well the season is nearly here and we hope that you have all remembered to book your meals for the rigging out supper on Sat 26 th , not too late if you let Chrissie know by Thursday. 01603 477583

We are planning a session this Wednesday evening at 7.30pm to get some expert advice from Ted Hill with regard to sailing rules. This session will be at the club house and is aimed mainly at those who already have some understanding of racing rules to clarify some of the finer points. In order to encourage more newer people to get involved we have decided to do another session, which will be more basic, after the sailing appreciation course.

Thanks to everyone who attended the work parties, a great impact can be seen in the club house, in the dinghy park and especially in the car park.

How about those boats? Are they ready to sail yet? Countdown is on now, first races Sunday 27 th and the Open Regatta the week after. Get those sails out and if you're struggling with what knots to tie where, then make sure you are at the rigging out supper where Maurice Ward is going to get us all practicing! The sailing appreciation course will be starting in June, all details on the web site, don't forget to invite friends and colleagues who might be interested.

Our treasurer David wants to thank everyone who has paid their subs, and would be delighted if he didn't need to make any reminder calls this year!

After the sailing appreciation course at the beginning of July, we would like to have a club barbeque, Last year we had a wonderful time at the home of John and Caroline Ellis, Is there anyone who would like to host this years event in their Garden? Chrissie will do the organising of provisions and finding out numbers etc. Please let her know if you would be willing, thanks.

See you in the pub or on the water!

Alan and Carrie, the Hon and the Sec
